Of course, now my awareness has shifted and the ordinary is transformed in other areas.
· A half eaten apple offered up for a bite by a two year old grandson.
· The voice on the other end of a phone call needing words of encouragement after a rough day.
· A hug.
· A dinner waiting for me when I come home.
Ordinary, simple acts, made extraordinary by the knowledge of how precarious and fickle life can be, never stopping and waiting for your emotions to catch up with the march of time. And now…..I’ve learned to crave the ordinary, to seek out and revel in moments time will surely someday steal away.
Truth of it is, I am grateful to time, because knowing it’s nature has made the ordinary precious…..and what a gift that is!
