When was the last time you tarried in the land of play, abandoning worries and cares at the door with a leap back into childhood innocence? When was the last time you looked at life with the wonder of a child’s eyes? When was the last time you spoke to God with the trust of a child, without doubt, guilt or second guesses, expecting him to answer?
Sitting on the floor with my grandson, he cares nothing about what happened at work, and squeals with joy to point out the spider weaving a web outside the window, as if it’s the most exciting news of the day. And….when we say our bedtime prayers, he fully expects God to follow through, never doubts the promises given. His faith is expectant.
My prayer: For it to last. For his faith and mine, to always filter through the eyes of a child.
